THE UPLAND BUZZARD

Many of the raptors sometimes look different due to the morphs / color variation.
This is the Dark Morph of the UPLAND BUZZARD.
Many days ago there were many videos about a bird photographer trying to capture the nictitating membrane which he was trying for many days and finally sold the video to some channel.
This image also shows the UPLAND BUZZARD with the nictitating membrane on its eyes..
So this nictitating membrane is not on just birds but on some mammals and reptiles. The major work of this membrane which is a white translucent membrane is to protect the eyes from dust and keep it moist.
