Unlike Humans who dance for the sheer joy of it the cranes mostly dance for 3 major reasons.

1. TO FIND A MATE ( in humans might be to impress a mate)

2. TO STRENGTHEN THE BOND BETWEEN THE PAIR. ( Also might be relevant to humans).

3. TO EXPRESS AGGRESSION AND TERROTORIALITY.

Just a reference to us to make things easy to understand.

So while we were clicking this pair the male suddenly started dancing. So there was no threat or any other crane other than his mate around so as per me it was the first option as for the second even the female should have participated.
