THE WHITE -BROWED TIT-WARBLER
One of the most sought after bird by the birders in when they visit the union territory of LADAKH is the White-Browed Tit- Warbler. One of the small birds almost the size of a sparrow lives in the shrubs rarely coming on the top in clear view. One has to have a lot of patience to click this bird. One of the many common birds found in the region of Ladakh of which the color helps to blend in the surroundings. Moving in a flock ranging from 10 to 40 strong they have a peculiar call which they give from time to time letting us know about their presence. Blue sheep also known as BHARAL is the local name in INDIA where as it is called as the YANG YANG in mandarin. One of the major prey of the predators in the Himalayas including the snow leopards and the tibetan wolf the small fawns are targeted by the bigger birds of prey/raptors like the golden eagle and the bearded vulture. The small sparrow sized bird which is as red as a rose and so called a ROSEFINCH. Waiting for the one of the most photographed bird im the LADAKH region this beautiful one showed up and we couldnt help but click it. THE HUNGRY BARBET
The great barbet is the biggest in size of all its cousins in the barbet family and so is called the great barbet. A common bird with a voracious appetite can be seen at the foothills and mid levels of the himalayas.
