CHUKAR PARTRIDGE

One of the many common birds found in the region of Ladakh of which the color helps to blend in the surroundings. Moving in a flock ranging from 10 to 40 strong they have a peculiar call which they give from time to time letting us know about their presence.

While getting the permits registered for entry we heard the peculiar call and started looking for the bird when we just saw its head popping out from behind a rock. Me being in constant search of new and different frames couldnt resist making this one.
